Went back tonight and our drink assistant was probably best I've experienced in 30 years of drinking. Tai (sp don't let anyone switch to Natty Lite midstream.

I live so close to Johnny's Tavern and just can't bring myself to go there again. It's not just bar food, it's awful bar food. The things they are supposed to be good at they aren't even good at (Patty Melt, appetizers)...let alone the awfulness if you happen to order a salad. Yuck. Maybe if all I wanted was a Bud Light on tap...maybe I would go back here.

My experience would have been a lot better had there not been an opened condom in my drink menu. What would have made it even remotely better is if my waitress had done anything about it and told a manager, because after her (sincere) apology, I never heard another word about it. No manager to apologize, no discount for our food, NOTHING. I have been in management in food service before and if that had happened while I was in charge, I would have gone out of my way to do everything possible to ensure that customer left happy and less disgusted so they didn't advertise their awful experience to the world like I'm about to.

Been here a few times over the past few years, and never had any disappointment. We loved the patio, although I had to double check to make sure the windows were VERY securely fastened to the ceiling! :) The pizza was pretty good. The sausage and Canadian bacon was fairly bland to me, but the pepperoni was really good. $10 for a pizza that feeds just over one person feels a *bit expensive compared to some other places, but the service was pretty good. You can't move your eyes without seeing a TV with a different sport on it (baseball and football when I was there), plus a few with a fun game of trivia that we look forward to returning to play.

So my experience tonight was to say the least unpleasant. First of all my dear friend found an opened ( and HOPEFULLY unused ) condom inside our menu. The waitress, though sweet she was, did nothing to solve the problem, like oh I don't know, at least have a manager come apologize to their customers. Having been in the food industry myself this is unacceptable and not to mention disgusting. On a better note my slice of pizza was burnt to a crisp.

The one word to best describe Johnny's is "comfortable". We come here fairly often, usually on Thursdays for the Buy One Get One free hamburgers. Today, however, my friend had her grandson with her, so I opted to choose something else on the menu. Our waitress, Fallon, was awesome today. I couldn't decide if I wanted a beer, or a bloody mary. Then came a suggestion from her: their new beer collaboration with Free State Brewery, the Blue Collar Lagar. Wow - smooth to the taste!!!! A wonderful, very drinkable beer, that if I had the day off, on a hot summer day? Yep, a pitcher of this would go down WAY to easy!!! I didn't want to eat too much, so did the $6.99 Johnny's lunch combo. Chose the Chicken Salad sandwich, with a cup of Chicken Tortilla soup (soup of the day). First, the soup. Thick, with a strong flavor profile -- how a tortilla soup should taste. Topped with crunchy tortilla strips, a very satisfying hot soup on a chilly day. The chicken salad sandwich -- meh! Fallon tried to steer me toward the tuna salad sandwich -- should have listened to her!!! Now, was the chicken salad good? Yes. My personal preference, however, is for a more savory chicken spread (usually complemented with grapes.) This version is a little sweeter than I like, but again, it tasted fine. I'm sure most people would love it. On toasted bread. I wish it had been warmer so we could have sat on the outdoor patio ... summer will return someday (if we're good!)

In all fairness, I have to rate this Johnny's separately for its nighttime ambiance. I have been here several times with some friends who live close to it. When I sit at the bar or in the bar area, I have a great experience. Service is excellent, food is excellent (but I pretty much like the entire Johnnys menu), and it's a good time.

Quite mediocre. Honestly I was somewhat okay with this place until the food came out. Buffalo dip was quite microwaved... And the flatbread pizza is a joke. $10 for 4 little slices. C'mon... Take it off the menu. At least the environment isn't horrible.

A This place is my go-to spot for afterwork drinks. Sure, there are nicer places in Corinth to have a drink (see: BRGR and Urban Table), but those aren't every day places to frequent. Johnny's in Corinth is the place the locals go grab a drink and a snack. This place has great service and friendly bartenders. Plus, they pour an honest drink. The food here is really awesome as well. They just remodeled and added an awesome patio, plus they still have their "backyard". I've been here some nights when they have awesome live music. This place rocks!

This place is hit or miss. Sometimes you'll get a decent server, sometimes you won't. Sometimes the food will be really good, sometimes it won't. Sometimes there will be a ton of kids and sometimes there won't. This is definitely "family johnnies" much to my dismay. If you want to play golden tee with your buddies it will be covered with kids. The 80 acre burger is my favorite.

headed here for lunch last week with a friend and our two 2-year-old kids. got here right at the heart of the lunch rush but grabbed the last available booth. my friend and I both ordered a cobb salad and our server asked us whether we wanted a half or whole, even though the half wasn't mentioned on the menu. we both ordered the whole and probably didn't need to but devoured it because it was so good (and both being pregnant probably contributed to our hunger) ordered my little guy a grilled cheese, which he devoured and also shared a few of his fries. it was supposed to also come with ice cream but we had to head out to the zoo. with a drink also included, it was a great deal for $4.95. living within walking distance, it a place we always forget about because it's tucked into the corner of Corinth Square. probably wouldn't head in here to watch a game, but it's a great place to come for dinner. also worth mentioning... while our kids were getting a little restless (it was busy so the food took a little longer) we discovered that the individual TVs at the booths can be changed to different channels. no sound, but my little guy was much more content once Clifford the Big Red Dog was on the screen.

We started coming here for KU games, this is in the middle of neighborhoods with young families, so there are usually kids at the earlier games. But it's okay, their parents are passionate and cheer and yell with the rest of us. Great atmosphere for any KU game. It is always packed when we're here, service can be slow, but the staff is always doing the best they can and are super friendly. I like that I can get the Greek Salad and it's actually pretty good. Most pubs/bars don't offer anything edible concerning vegetation. Living on the MO side it's nice to have good KU bar so close and we keep coming back even after the season is over.

I have been to the original Lawrence location many times and always leave satisfied with the food and service. The same cannot be said for this location. Our waitress was not only incompetent but also unfriendly. The food was even worse. I ordered a turkey burger that was on par with the burgers I ate in my high school cafeteria and only came after they had initially brought out the wrong meal for me. I know turkey burgers are a healthier, less delicious version of a regular burger but this one was exceptionally bad. My dining companion ordered the southwest chicken wrap that is served cold, which it doesn't tell you on the menu. When we asked our waitress if she could possibly heat the wrap up she responded "How do you want me to heat it up?" Unless they can throw your meal into a deep fryer and slap it on a plate, there's a good chance you will not be satisfied with your meal here. Go elsewhere for better service and better bar food!

If you want to watch a KU game here - get here early! The place fills up fast. We started with the salsa, guacamole and chips appetizer. The salsa wasn't spicy but pleasantly smokey. The guac was decent and was topped with fresh tomatoes and onions. Once the game started I ordered a Johnny's Classic Hot Dog. It was covered with shredded cheese, sweet relish and tons of onions. The hot dog was excellent! It didn't need mustard or additional condiments. I was really surprised they don't have a pitcher special for game days. I thought the pitchers were pricey @ $9.50. But the price of Jameson was spot on. Our server was really good. She checked on us quite a few times and kept my water filled. It looked like the servers in general were attentive to all the neighboring tables. This is a great KU place with good food - Rock Chalk!

Just another sports bar in KS. haha; there's really not much more you can say about these, yes? The music choice is a bit eclectic on a Sunday night but if you're all for people watching, you'll definitely see some characters out here.

Went here for a special comedy show. It was already crowded by the time we got there. Wait service was great.. we didn't eat this time, but I want to go back and try the food. Drinks were cheap, but WEAK. Comedy show was bad, but that wasn't their fault.

Ate here Sunday evening - Sydney was our excellent server! Had the LOADED potato skins for appetizer! They were delicious - generously covered with toppings and the dipping sauce was quite tasty! I enjoyed my chicken enchiladas (kinda like a Suisse enchilada). The two enchiladas had this child verde sauce on the side...just spicey enough! My BF had the fish and chips which he said was very tasty! It also came with hush puppies and they were crunchy on the outside and just right on the inside! The place was not too crowded so we had great service! Food arrived quickly. The portions are so generous that we took a lot home. We ordered chicken wings to-go for later! They too were plump and plenty. Always enjoy the crisp celery...adds that special touch with wings! You can choose your flavor of wings. I enjoyed a hot fudge brownie sundae for dessert and it was as BIG AS A BUICK! Many sports games playing on the gazillion televisions. Family friendly - ample parking.

We went here last night for St. Patrick's Day. We got okay service, even though it wasn't packed. It took us a while to order our food. I got buffalo chicken tenders-- they were good, as were the homemade potato chips. Johnny's has great drink specials and a lot of TVs. I'd come back to watch a game or hang out with friends on a weeknight.

I have been to almost every Johnny's location and this was by far the worst. Our lunch took two and a half hours when there were eight other customers in the entire restaurant. Our waitress was really slow and when the food was finally brought out she didn't apologize for the wait. Also someone, who I assume was the manager, was extremely rude and practically yelled at us about splitting an order. She mentioned several times that we were not allowed to do that/would not be able to that again. Extremely rude and uncalled for. The food was as it always is at Johnnys, pretty good bar food. If you want a better experience go to the one in Lawrence, or the one in P&L!

For a sports bar, this place has some damn good food and decent atmosphere. Service is usually so good that you might think they are being over attentive, but those college kids just have a lot of energy. The constant tv noise may be irritating on occasion, but they make up for it with some cozy booths and giant drink glasses. High points for chicken sandwich, wraps and hamburgers. Low points for all the servers and the hostess hanging out on chairs at the entrance. For the love of god, give them a place that is all their own.

Good burgers, nice service and plenty of access to sports on TV make Johnny's the "comfort food" of pubs. I like their community spirit and recommend it for casual dining.

Johnny's is a fun Sports bar located in the Corinth Shopping center in the heart of Prairie Village. It boasts a spacious interior with a large bar area, numerous booths and lots of TVs for watching the sport of your choice. Be careful though, if KU is playing you'll be hard-pressed to find a TV not tuned to the Jayhawks as Johnny's is a hot spot for local Kansas fans. Johnny's also has a back patio with plenty of seating, a TV and speakers tuned in to the Jukebox inside. Each night offers different specials food and drink specials, and Wednesday is trivia night. The Menu is that of a classic bar, but I highly recommend the pepper jack bites (probably two orders if you're with friends) and the buffalo chicken wrap (offering a low-carb option with a spicy kick). The bar was slightly empty when I visited, but the wait staff, the drink specials and the Jukebox made the night a fun and successful adventure.

Dined there last evening with my KU friends to watch an awesome football game--GO WILDCATS--and was pleasantly surprised to find an excellent selection of beer (Guinness on tap). Had a great waitress who was attentive but not intrusive. HUGE PLUS. Fantastic waffle cut sweet potato fries, for a starter. Two for one burger night (thursdays) made it the right price for us. TV's for every one eyes. I'll go again especially to watch a good game.

Great place to catch a KU game. Food is always good at all the Johnny's locations. The PV location is a little more kid friendly before sundown than most bars because it is squarely in a family neighborhood. If you are looking for a cold beer, good burger, and the game -- look no further.

When I was in college I made up a slogan for all Johnny's Taverns - good food, bad service. I have now been to 4 of their locations and this holds true at each one. The servers are slow to refill water, bring you a new beer, check to see how you are doing, etc. It's nothing terrible, but it is slightly annoying when you are thirsty. Criticism aside, I love their food. It is bar good, but bar food done right. They have a huge burger and pizza section to choose from. The Johnny Wilson burger is my favorite and my husband adores the Slim burger, which ironically is the double burger. This is definitely more of a KU bar, so it's a lot of fun to visit on game days.

3 strikes you're out Showed up at 5pm this Sunday 8/21/11 for early dinner. No staff at door to seat us so grabbed a booth which was dirty and ended up moving to the other side so someone would see us but 3 booths were dirty also. We ended up moving to a table and waited.... and waited...There were people sitting at the bar but that was it - we were the only customers in the restaurant and 3 wait staff sitting at a back booth. This is not the first time we've had poor customer service at this location so will not be back which is unfortunate because they usually have good food. Nice they can afford to lose customers in this economy and with more competition in the Corinth Square location. Went to Longbranch and had a great meal and great customer service.
